The job I would like to have is as a conductor in a professional orchestra, either in Chile or around the world. I imagine myself getting there, greeting all musicians and starting the rehearsal. It's so rewarding as a profession, since the cultural contribution to society is huge, you know, and being part of it is simply amazing.

To be able to conduct, you have to be skilled with your hands, you need empathy with the musicians as well, and of course, you need to study, and to study a lot.

Fortunately, the salary is quite good, obviously, depending on the orchestra in which you are conducting. You'll be able to afford a comfortable lifestyle being a conductor.

I'm currently studying lirical singing and conducting, however, conducting is not a career that you can find at universities in Chile. The only way to learn it is with a private teacher or conductor, in courses, seminars or simply in another country.

There's more and more conductors in Chile, which means that this career has a promising future to become more professional.

I really believe that in a future there will be more orchestras in where all conductors will be able to contribute to society.
